Ohhh, so *that’s* who this guy is. It’s right there in the name. He’s the son of Richard Matheson. Duh.

So is this literary nepo baby’s fiction any good? Not really. It’s pretty gimmicky and cheap. But it’s not uninteresting. The quality varies widely, and it’s never remotely as good as the intros by King and Etchison promise (King was really churning out the BS in this one, geez).

I do have favorites, though. “Commuters,” “Conversation Piece,” “Goosebumps,” and “Where’s There’s a Will” are all pretty great, even if basically all of them are nonsensical.

If this weren’t so quick of a read, I’d probably be over it. But I was able to enjoy it for the forgotten horror collection that it is.
