Part 1 is really informative about Westminster and the legislative process in the UK. But didn’t think the 2nd part was as useful. Overall good insight into UK politics and politicians.

this book was alright. i think its quite accessible to people who don't know a lot about UK politics. im already a politics student so this read wasn't particularly enlightening to me as a lot of its key info i already knew.
i found the second part about policy quite slow and redundant. by that point i just wanted to finish the book. skimmed the conclusion because again, none of it was new to me. the first part was a lot more insightful and interesting.
tldr: decent, not brilliant but not bad. id recommend if you want to understand the pitfalls of the UK political system better.

Interesting to have a book illustrate just how spread politicians can be - more than we think - and the gritty challenges they have to go through beyond what we see in the news. While this did cast politicians in a more sympathetic way in which they are pulled in all sorts of directions, it did still remind us of the same 'out of touched-ness' we've come to expect from some of the political class.
The issues highlighted are tangible and make sense and were surprising, however the lack of possible solutions to the political problems that exist in the UK did leave it ending a bit flat. Much of some of the chapters were drawn out a bit.

Educational and enlightening in just how fucked the system currently is, but I find the lack of solutions to be really disheartening personally.
