I think "Death Angel" by Linda Howard is one of the books that made me realize the importance of freedom. A book with a catchy plot and touching lines, Death Angel is one of the very first books that caused me to fall so hard it hit right on the brain and made me see for instance that freedom is a word that has no meaning, finding it is what you call a journey with no end. The beauty of life is in the people that you surround yourself with and the influences and scars they leave on you. Especially the ones that take time to heal.[bc: Death Angel|2067180|Death Angel|Linda Howard|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1320416833l/2067180._SY75_.jpg|2072408]

I want to start by saying that this is not my typical genre, but read it as a recommendation for a book challenge. That being said, the actual storyline of Death Angel was pretty good! I mean, there are drug dealers, assassins, death, and let's not forget about the steamy scenes! Drea is a character that you can't help but like! She's a strong female lead character, but what bothered me about Drea was that she felt the need to play the blonde bimbo stereotype to keep a man that she despised simply for his money. Remove that aspect from her character and she's smart, she's strong, and she's a fighter. She becomes this complete package that you would definitely want on your side. ***Spoilers from this point on!!!***
I want to address the scene where Drea dies and "crosses" over to the other side. I felt that though that was a big part of the continuation of the storyline, that it was thrown into the story very strangely. As a reader, I was very thrown off when I got to this point of her crossing over to this other plain full of "layered" beings that voted on giving her a second chance at life, including the spirit of who would have been her still born son, and beaming her back to her body. I felt that in a sci-fi or fantasy book, this type of scene would have felt normal, but that in your somewhat typical romance novel, this came across very odd. I also felt that the storyline tended to drag on in certain parts. Again, the book itself was good and I enjoyed reading it, but I definitely felt that there was some room for improvement.

As many other reviewers have pointed out, this book had a great premise. And it certainly got off to a great start. The first 3 chapters grabbed me right away, and i was anxious to see what would happen next.
Unfortunately, this book quickly went downhill. The storyline came to a complete standstill after the first few chapters. Suddenly, the author decided to fill page after page with details about the female lead's hairstyle and wardrobe. I found myself literally skimming entire chapters waiting for something interesting to happen. I ended up giving up on the book about 200 pages in.

Good book, but I felt it slowed way down about halfway through.

NOTE : I WRITE THE REVIEW OF THIS BOOK IN INDONESIA SINCE MY FRIEND ASK ME TO TOLD THE STORY FOR THEM :)
Baru setelah tahu waktu mereka hampir habis, dy klimaks (hadoh siang2 gene nulis gini *shy*).

Drea has become nothing but a brittle doll to a powerful and terrible man. Her time has run out so she takes a chance and makes a break for freedom....with $2 million she stole from a drug lord. She's on the run from him and his assassin now...
I think I saw this book going down waaaaay differently than it did. I honestly was intrigued the whole time which is one of the main reasons I rated this higher. That and the romance this book did have...just made me happy. Drea is so smart and cunning, but I think the best part is how she had such growth throughout the book. It was amazing to watch. Don't even get me started on Simon. I really do love a morally grey character; they are just so much more interesting and dynamic than a prince charming. I loved anything with Simon in it because he really was an interesting part of this book. The biggest downside for me was the lack of development with the actual relationship in the book. It was very disappointing. I think there was collectively maybe 50-75 pages all together where the couple actually interacted which in a 365 page book is not much. The interactions they did have really pulled me in and didn't let go, which is why I wish there was more. This wasn't a bad book by any means....but I feel a little gipped.

A con artist falling in love with her assassin at IHOP?
I think ms linda howard meant for this to be a wholesome moment for these two but the only problem is...I DIDNT WANT WHOLESOME. I WANTED TO BE THOROUGHLY THRILLED WHEN THESE TWO CRIMINALS REALIZED THEY WERE FALLING FOR EACH OTHER!! And IHOP is just not it.
Also spoiler but I can't believe the heroine went and died for a whole hour and then came back to life with slightly psychic abilities... I don't believe in this miracle just like how I don't believe in their love either
