I LOVED this. I can't even say exactly why. The main characters - on the surface - are reprehensible: a drug lord's piece of a** (the term "mistress" seems too high-end) and a skillful assassin. It's hard to say much about this book without giving key elements away, but the suspense - even having an idea how it would all turn out (no great mystery) kept me on edge. Don't miss this; if you like this genre, it's worth the read.

The description on the book left me wondering as I read it whether it was correct or not. It ended up being correct, but part of the description was really only a minor part of the story and isn't even in the book until the end. Other than that this was a good read. Some parts were thought provoking, but not in an "in your fave this is what you need to believe" kind of way.

Great book. I will definitely be checking out more of her books.

The cover looks much more menacing than the story actually is. It was quick, fun enough read, but I wouldn't say it was a satisfying romance or that it 'kept me on the edge of my seat', as suggested by reviews on the cover. Linda Howard definitely has much better books, but having said that, I did enjoy it as I was reading it.

I really enjoy a good Linda Howard book, and this one is no exception. The beginning of the book hooked me, but it does get a little slow near the middle, and then picks up again at the end. After the initial love scene, there isn't a whole lot of steam, but I like the romance, and I enjoyed the main characters. I also liked the secondary FBI characters.

Okay, first. This is a weird one by Linda Howard.

BAM. It started with a dubious sex scene between the h and H. (I have a little bit of issue with the H actually due to this) I was like, wait up... this is happening too fast. What is going on? Who is the h? Who is the H?

Then, it looks like it was going to be a mafia/organized crime sort of romance with a smart runaway h and mouse-and-cat chase scene between h and H. I was like okay. This is building up to something.

Then BAM. Something pivotal happened in the middle of the book.
Something paranormal? Angelic?
Then it took turns into a new direction. At that moment I was like, okay. Another change of theme. I kinda wish though Linda Howard could make two books out of this one book. One with the initial plot and another with the other half of the book. Together, it felt kinda weird though.

However, I love it. Who wouldn't love Linda Howard's books? I stayed up until 5 am to finish this one.

Not the worst book I ever read, but I will most likely never read it again. Linda Howard is one of my favorite authors but this one was hard to get through for me.
