Another slay. Wow. The epilogue was insane. Not convinced on Mr Burns as a character honestly. Made the resolution too easy I think. The whole thing of a superior race not wanting to interfere on this world was very interesting. Their time travel rules are sus. Not convinced they make sense. The whole geobacter thing was cool but how did it take them 12 years to figure that out. If they have all the best scientists in the world working on this surely they could’ve come up with that earlier.

I’m  going back and forth on my rating for this one.

I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if I’d read it in print. The performance for the 10-year-old  felt inauthentic and forced in a way that bothered me, though the rest of the cast remains excellent. There was also a lot of intense action and, therefore, screaming.

I appreciated the twists and not pulling punches, as well as a time-skip, and delving into more lore.

These books have their flaws like any other but they are just so much fun to read.

This one felt like an intense ride, without a lot of downtime to breathe. I couldn't put it down, and read the whole thing in one day this weekend. I think the format helps with that, because there is more white space in these books than in a traditional narrative.

I feel like I can't say much, because of spoilers, but this one brought serious devastation. A downside to this book is that it focuses so exclusively on the experiences of the characters, that the weight of what is happening on Earth gets a little bit lost. We don't really get to see the perspectives of anyone who is not on Dr. Franklin's team. It feels like a disaster movie in some ways, that zeroes in on the ones who are supposed to save the day, which makes sense, but I do wish we could get a greater sense of the impact on the lives of those who aren't in the inner circle.

Still, I loved it, hence the 4 stars. These remind me a little of Michael Crichton's work, actually.

boring, unimaginative, and unnecessarily flippant about governmental-induced massacres.

4.5 stars. This book was so good. So many twists and turns. I feel like as of this second it’s not quite a 5 star but I really enjoyed it! The audiobooks are top notch. I have listened and read along and love doing it that way.

This series always proves that I really do enjoy sci fi more than I anticipate. Also the interview format continues to be extremely enjoyable and intriguing to read.

Good follow up to the first book, I read it straight away so hard to distinguish them lol. Wasn’t a fan of some storyline choices but found it as addicting as the first book!
