Another great book from the Mistletoe Romance series!
While nothing could ever live up to Nick & Noel, I really enjoyed Holly & Clark's story! I loved watching the Winter's story grow and seeing them add Clark & Jace & even Sam to the family. I cannot wait to finish the last in the series!

I really liked this book, way more than the first one. I really liked the single parent trope as it brought Jace into the story and I think he was key to bringing them closer and also added a lot to the story. I really liked seeing the character development and I quite liked their romance in general . Much cuter especially with Jace. He seemed to have brought a lot of joy to the Winters family. I hope that we will see a book for Holly in the future!!

I kept going back and forth on my rating for this book. There were some great scenes along with some real duds. She definitely needs a better copy editor too because there were a few pretty majorly obvious continuity issues that shouldn’t have slipped by.
What sealed the 2 star rating for me was at the end whenClark’s ex came back and begged him for money to get out of a bad situation but she still wanted nothing to do with her son and justified everything she did based on childhood trauma. And Clark withdraws a huge chunk of money from his savings and retirement—savings that he scraped by and sacrificed to have as a single dad—because it was the “right thing to do.” The fuck it isn’t!!! She’s literally taking advantage of him, and she’ll be back later for more money. It’s toxic and fucked up but portrayed as a good thing.
Everything else, like the quick love, I can excuse as a trope of the genre. And otherwise, it was lighthearted and fun, even though the writing style is a bit sparse for me. It needed better descriptions.

Seeing as how I've written over 150 book reviews this year, all I can think about when writing this one is pretty much just "this was cute. Not amazing, but cute." I don't have energy for much more!
I will say that I enjoyed this one more than Nick and Noel, mostly because it felt like it had more depth and the characters were much, MUCH more likable.
Side note that I think Holly is going to have an enemies-to-lovers story with Declan. That is all.
