| This was my 1st discworld novel (Then I peeled back to the witches and have read two of those, as I readjusted my reading order).
Discworld really isn't a speed read series so if this is likewise your starter please keep that in mind. These book are fun if you take them at a leisurely pace. It's like high fantasy Monty Python, but with a bit more satire to it. That means if you read them too fast it can be completely mind-numbing. The jokes are funny but just pray on the idiocy of the characters and the situations they are in and the plots pretty much give themselves away in the first 20 pages.
For light reading its a fun series.
For devoted reading: it sucks so hard.
