Loved this novel! I can see why a lot of people say it’s one of the best of the Discworld Series, though it focuses on one city more than the whole world so while it is a good slice of life, I feel some of the other novels capture more of the Discworld expanse itself. Lots of wonderful Pratchett turns of phrases and satire, plus what’s not to love since this one includes dragons!

Adored the audiobook version. Usually, I read print or e-book for Discworld novels but this one the audiobook was so captivating and really made it even more enjoyable for me. Highly recommend the audiobook version!

Hørte på lydboka, men kom aldri inn i fortellingen, hang ikke med på alle karakterene. Tror ikke dette var riktig sted å starte dette universet for meg.

Really loved this book, easily one of my favorite fantasy books of all time. It’s rare that a book makes me laugh, and this one did many times.

Am finally making an effort to make up for my thus far rather sporadic reading of the Discworld novels. Started with this one because Korax yelled at me for having read [book: Night Watch] before the earlier Watch books, and because Wychwood has been saying that Carrot is basically Benton Fraser and would crack me up. He did, and the book in general did—as Terry Pratchett always does. I hope to read the rest of the Watch books in a more timely manner than I’ve proceeded with the Discworld novels so far.

Funniest and smartest book i ever read. But it didn't have any chapters

If you’ve ever thought about reading a Discworld book, I think this is a great one to start with. It’s a fun, satirical take on chosen-one narratives with dragons, taverns, and bookish magic. It’s hilarious and insightful, while also being a great story. I think this is a good comp to The House Witch by Delemhach or even to Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree. Think medieval fantasy city with a loveable cast of characters, who are a work family. I’m actually laughing as I write this review, because I’m remembering some of the jokes. This one put a big smile on my face, and the audio narration is superb.
