Loved this! It's got best friend's brother, second chance and forced proximity – all my favourite things 🤭

Lex and West have been friends since they were kids but West cut off most contact when he moved away at 18. Now, he works in security and Lex has been getting some threats...

Read this in basically one go. It's a quick read but unlike CC's other novella, I think this one's the perfect length! I felt like I knew the characters enough to be happy about their HEA at the end 🫶🏻

i feel like i always feel this way whenever i read a novella or a short-story, but things unraveled SUPER fast (it wasn’t satisfying) and the ending didn’t cut it for me.

the major question i have left unanswered is WHY DID MAX FIXATE ON LEX? it said they found a whole room in his house dedicated to her but 1) how did he keep that from his wife? 2) what’s the backstory? it’s gotta be more than him just hearing her music all the time and assuming it was for him. it HAS to be deeper than that, cause if it isn’t that’s too generic.

and we HARDLY, BARELY, NOT NEARLY ENOUGH touched on Lex’s issues with her parents. 🤨
