Not at all what I was expecting. This is objectively one of the worst things I ever read but its so bad its good in a strange way.

Holy shit that rocked. They don't call Tezuka the godfather of manga for nothing. Guy literally innovated gaslight gatekeep girlboss in 1970.

Another great graphic novel by Tezuka. Tezuka explores many facets of several characters. He is adept at showing the good and bad in us all. This was a great read!

Tezuka kept me guessing in every chapter. He takes aim at the "new breed" he saw coming up in the 70s, obsessed with consumerism and free sex, and follows those values to absurd (and absurdly entertaining) lengths. What's it like to live only knowing how to imitate, seduce, and acquire? How does one resist such a lifestyle without becoming a victim? Several different lifestyles (celebrity, corporate, artistic) are corrupted by Toshiko Tomura, who always gets her way. Follow her around awhile; Tezuka couldn't look away, either.

“There are insects that look just like other insects… they’re born that way, knowing to mimic to survive.”

A startling piece on capitalism, narcissism, and the lengths society goes to achieve exceptionalism.

This is more than just a book with a banger of a title. It’s a thrilling work that will have you turning every page and strangely rooting for the narcissistic protagonist.

I support women’s rights and women’s wrongs, what can I say?

“Cheers to the metamorphosis of the century.”

God knows I fucking hated this book. This book is not worth your time, specifically seeing that it is just a collection of stories that are motivated by nothing more than sexism. I have no problem reading about characters, that are not morally good, as long as there is a good story. The story is bad, there is a lot of just sexism for no reason (things such are a woman planning out her rape, pretending to be sexually interested in another woman to gain what she wants, that same woman is also barred by her husband from going through with an abortion and he gets into a marriage with her, sole purpose of which is to brainwash her) and there isn't even a satisfying conclusion. This just sucked and it is not worth the time.
