To be honest, at first this book was making it so I lost my groove with reading, as you can tell with how long it took me to read.. it was just so slow the first 45% - but looking back it was understandably so to build the world and what the characters were like. Then it really picked up, some of it was a bit confusing why some things happened, but otherwise I enjoyed the book and will be getting the second. The Epilogue threw me for a loop, I wasn't expecting that character's personality to be that way deep inside (iykyk lol!)

Spice: 6/10 - A bit more spice than ToG but much less spice than Ice Planet Barbarian
Plot: 7/10 - it felt a bit rushed, but I am interested in where it goes next.
Overall: 8/10 - Good story overall and makes me think the spice will be amped up in the next book ;)

a short but sweet enemies to lovers situation. not too complicated of a plot, mostly focused on the romance aspect. it has a lot of tropes that i like, so this was a fun read for me, but im not very invested. sort of felt like an incomplete story, like this was 3/4 of the book and im still waiting for the main conflict to happen. I think it would have made more sense for what is set up in the epilogue to be seen through during this first book.

short little snack of a book which I enjoyed immensely. I like the bloodline concept and the warring kingdoms. excited to see what happens with jaren and vera’s story next. Side note: that last chapter with the psycho prince was eerie, can’t wait for him to get his ass beat

This will be a planned four book series. I’ve read two so far, it is an interesting world build with decent spice. The mate bond seems a bit manic with this series as well. No release date for book three. Book two left on an interesting cliff hanger. However, I can’t tell if it is interesting or if it’s because the first two books are mostly world building and I still don’t know what is going on. Overall, it’s a 3.5/5 and 3/5 for spice

OH MY GODDD THIS BOOK?? It checked off all my boxes. The tension was impeccably written, I couldn’t stop reading!! I need myself a Jaren!

This book was amazingly written and I was left on the edge of my seat many many times, and couldn’t put the book down. This was definitely one of my favorite books I’ve read so far. Best part?? The female main character wasn’t mindless. She was written so well and didn’t do whatever other people told her to do.

This book was absolutely amazing! If you want a fast paced read packed with tension, this is the book for you!

✨ Untainted Spoiler Free Review ✨

Untainted follows the story of Vera, who at a young age was taken from her home land to a human empire, to be raised among them by the Weapons Master to the Empire.

This book has:
- a bad ass dagger wielding main character
- a hot mysterious dark male
- a handsome prince
- a funny, friendly guard

All that being said, I enjoyed Untainted a lot! I did feel that it was mostly set up to a second book, as there wasn’t much world building or explanation (unfortunately)! But it was a quick read, just over 300 pages, and the MC was easier to root for than in other similar stories
