I really didn’t like this sadly, and struggled to find moments to enjoy (although several scenes where I felt highly disturbed)? The premise initially interested me, but ultimately the plot was predictable and the main characters felt pretty one-dimensional which left me feeling underinvested in the romance. The writing was also very simplistic and repetitive to the point I wondered, on more than one occasion, if I had accidentally re-read a page (but also it is YA so maybe I’m not the intended audience). For these reasons I really have NO desire to read the sequel, yet I’m also frustrated at the lack of plot development in this alone - might hate read the follow up if I’m feeling petty.

So good. So angsty. So gay. I loved this book. I literally started it last night and it consumed me literally all day. It was incredible. I went in knowing I would like it and left loving it. Omg. The internal conflict of the characters was amazing, and their flaws beautifully written, and the suspense and the not knowing which characters to trust. Literally amazing. My heart was pounding while reading.

Incredible read! The story is gripping and the chemistry between Crier and Ayla is unmatched. This is the first sapphic romance/romance in general that I've read and it was definitely worth it. I will definitely be reading the sequel. 100% would recommend!
