Overall, a decent book. The biggest issue is that the pacing is just kinda off. Almost nothing happens in the first 70-80% of the book, and then you get hit with everything at once. But the setting is interesting, even though I think it could have been pushed even further. The Characters are fairly basic, no real standouts, but not bad in any way. 
In general, I would recommend this, if you can deal with reading like... 300 pages of vague theory crafting before anything happens to actually move this dump truck of a plot forward.
