No surprises here, Nisha creates a story with immaculate vibes, rich characters, and interesting world and magic building. I’m IN!!
I don’t know if I was finding February a hard reading month but I found this book difficult to engage with. The main character, Zarya, had some really valid feelings about things that had happened/happened to her but the way these were expressed was insufferable. I’ll probably read the rest of the series
I really struggled through this whole book… The FMC is held captive for 21 years for some mysterious reason. Suddenly her captor disappears and she becomes automatic bffs with the kingdom (queendom?)’s two main men and the princess and heir to the throne. There’s a lot of food talk, plus sexy fairies and a vampire of sorts who you think is the MMC. But then he turns out to be engaged with the princess who will become a tree as soon as her mother, the queen, dies, so the princess suggests the FMC becomes her fiancée’s lover. Then it turns out the series’ MMC is the fake MMCs lost brother and the FMCs disappeared captor comes back and tells her she’s an illegitimate princess of two kingdoms and has magical darkness powers (I know, a woman having them, not a man?!) that will save the world if her bio dad doesn’t steal them.
It’s all too much for a 350 page book. Plus, there’s a character called Kindle and since this book is available on KU, you’re likely to be reading about Kindle on your kindle and that somehow feels wrong.

Thank you NetGalley and Second Sky for sending me an ebook of Heart of Night and Fire for review consideration.
I was super excited to get a copy of this book because I am loving the Artefacts of Ouranos series, and I am waiting (not so patiently for book 3 to come out in 2024).
This book is a slow-burn but when you pick up a Quartet you know what you are signing up for.
There was enough of a hook at the start to keep you reading and the second half of the novel there is a good amount of action and hints at future romance to keep going.
If you enjoy a strong FMC with secret powers they are learning to wield to potentially save everyone they love, well, this is up your alley. There are a few great twists at the end and you meet a character you have been waiting for. It is enough to make me want to read book 2.
Now I am waiting for two of Nisha’s books to come out!

This was fun! It’s this a pretty standard fantasy with notes of romance but make it Indian inspired.
This book has found family vibes, elemental magic systems, and LOTS of secrets (don’t want to spoil anything).
The ending through so much info AND a big ass cliffhanger at me that I’m definitely heading straight into book 2.
I see this series going in a slow burn/enemies to lovers direction with a lot more character growth and world building that I’m super excited for. ☺️
