The book was about 7 theater students in their 4th year who were like family and engrossed with a Shakespearean advent throughout their classical plays such as Caesar, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and Lear which really piqued my interest since its related to literature. How the story unfolded over friendship, love, violence, death, grief, and an underlying issue that comes with agonized guilt. The novel picked up a pace moving past and present in chapters through "Acts" same as a theater play, the prologue displaying the present. It was so heartbreaking when I was so close to the denouement, everything made sense and fitted like a puzzle. Every single detail of the characters overall made it even more an interesting read. Filippa was one of my favorite characters, her demeanor was very calm and calculated - an all-rounder type. Though for the most part I felt pity for all of them, except for Richard. I don't know if I should blame Shakespeare for this one or the aggressiveness of an egotistical man? Could be both.
