I haven’t read a book this thrilling in a long time! Books about serial killers always intrigues me and this one did not disappoint. I enjoyed the different layers and the different POVs. It made for an interesting read that was fast-paced and suspenseful.

Night Watcher by Daphne Woolsoncroft is a fast-paced and tense thriller. Nola, twenty years after her encounter with a serial killer feels like she is being stalked. After several incidents occur she feels like the serial killer is back and taunting her.
Talk about a chilling thriller! This had me on the edge of my seat and seriously creeped out. It had all the right aspects to make this one of my top thrillers I have ever read. The bone chilling sensation of being stalked, watched, and your personal space invaded! Not knowing if it is really happening or if it is in your imagination.
Seriously, I loved this book so much! I read it in less than 3 hours because it was unputdownable for me. Just fantastic. The writing was engaging, the story line was creepy, and the characters were top notch. I couldn’t guess at all even though there were some bread crumbs.
I am so glad that I decided to pick this one up sooner rather than later.
Recommend, recommend, recommend to anyone who enjoys a fast-paced tense thriller with some seriously creepy descriptions.

The first thing I saw was a drawing by an 8-year-old child on the first page. That's when I decided to buy it from the Barnes & Noble store. This must be good. I'm glad I did. Definitely 5 stars from me. I feel terrified when reading; however, it's a good thing I'm not living alone. 👀 The more I read, the more I wonder who's behind the mask, why he killed all those women, and how he did it. The mask is very creepy. It's a very shocking story. Nola Strate works as a late-night call-in radio host. One day, Nola experiences triggered memories of her past when a caller describes an incident in her home. Is he back to finish what he started? 😳 This book should be the first thing on your list to buy. I definitely recommend it.
Thank you SO much to Hachette Audio for the complimentary ALC!

Let me tell you. I should not have started this book while I was on a walk and often isolated on the trail. This definitely gave me heebie jeebie vibes! The audio started with the Author's note where Woolsoncroft talked about her personally connection to true crime. I am not a true crime follower or listener but she has a podcast discussing true crime cases so it was a natural progression to take that knowledge and to write a book.
I am fairly certain that this is her debut and I thought she nailed it out of the park. I was hooked from the start until the end. And the way that Woolsoncroft wrote how our FMC Nola was feeling, made you feel as if you were there. I thought Woolsoncroft did a good job with giving us the backstory on what happened to Nola has a child that shaped who she became as an adult. You meet a bunch of different characters and of course knowing the end, it was easy to see that it was this person. But I will say I did not guess correctly and it was pretty much debunked shortly after I made my guess.
The audio narration was done by veteran narrator Helen Laser and new to me narrator Will Collyer. Helen as always is able to transfer the book into something more. She was exceptional in this! I also thought Will was good for the male portions (he handled the pov of the monster as well as the detective). Between the two of them this was an all star audiobook.
It's hard to talk about a lot of the plot of the book without giving too much away but if you are looking for something to keep you on the edge of the seat and with a little scare, I highly recommend this one! Especially if you plan on reading this by audio.
