I just think Rebekah Weatherspoon's writing is not for me. I have tried a couple of her books now and either they've been mediocre or I haven't vibed with. I don't think that means objectively they are bad books at all. I completely understand why my friends have read and loved her books. For me it's just a matter of writing style.

This was soooo good! Like everything about it was amazing. The open communication! the characters! everything slapped!

Still excellent on reread!

I loved the previous two books in this series and while Harbor can be read as a standalone, there is some great continuity woven in. While the premise of betrayed partners finding new love with each other after the deaths of their cheating partners could seem unreal, this author has such skill and grounds it in reality, I totally bought in. Not only is Brooklyn kick-ass and vulnerable, Shaw and Vaughn (swoon) are both compelling while having realistic flaws. None of them magically 'get better' and finally the 'grumpy' hero acknowledges he needs therapy. I also found Vaughn's reasoning on needing to be in a poly relationship to be one of the better descriptions and insights in any MMF or MFM.
And as always Ms Weatherspoon brings the heat. If you've read Rafe or Xeni, this is much heavier thematically, but with the same level of skilled writing.
