This one was dark and brutal and gory. 

I'm not typically a fan of religious horror (books) and the first time I read this one (when it was released) I remember HATING the ending. Knowing now that it is part of a series I think I like the ending more this read through... I'm not entirely sure if I actually liked this book? However, I will say that this book was fantastic for what it was. I'm going to read the next book, for sure.

This book is so weird. I cant tell if i hate it or love it. The gist is that its mean girls but make it torture porn.

I read up to page 148 and then I decided to put this one down. I don’t mind scary, I don’t mind blood and I don’t mind murder in books… but I don’t do well with lots of torture and this book was filled with never ending torture. I didn’t want to put myself through the agony of reading it any longer. I’m sure if I would have kept going, there would have been things revealed that I might not have seen coming but even if some mind blowing revelation would have been revealed, it didn’t outweigh the agony of reading through all of that torture. 
This book is not for me.

Parts of this book made me physically sick to read but I could not put it down. I wish it had been longer and gave more background on the complex characters, but still a good read.

It was chilling, scary, creepy, and kept me on the edge on my seat the whole time. I was very grossed out by the graphic and very gory depictions of violence. But if you're fine with that and want to be scared and left hanging this book is for you.

I never in a million years saw that cliff hanger at then end. That was one twist I can say I never saw coming.
