I LOVE this series. Thanks to my mom, I read this series when I was young. (It was her favorite series too.)

This was a re-read for me. I loved Trixie Belden as a kid and decided to read the first one again since I still have my original copies. I was dressing up as Trixie for work- we all dressed up as favorite book characters. After reading it as an adult, I understand why I loved it so much. Trixie is spunky and a real go-getter, but also impulsive and hasty at times. A strong female character which for me was a common theme in books loved as a child. Of course, I see now how melodramatic this series is as well as didactic, but you know what? I still love it. Maybe I'll keep reading the series through this summer.

These are the books that made me become interested in reading as a child. I re-read this one through the library and was excited to learn that the books still ring true, comfortable, interesting. :)

The plot is ridiculous but I would’ve loved it at 10.

I had so much fun reading this over the course of a few months via zoom call with my 9-year-old niece. Some of the language and ideas seemed a little funny and outdated to us now, but mostly the story was fun and kept us guessing.
