This book has so much heart! Sure, it’s written by a comedian, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s a comedic book. This was history and truth and love and trial and struggle - so, so much of everything - wrapped up in - a lot.

i would definately recommend the audiobook for this.
the flow of the book was amazing and patricia (his mother) absolutely stole the show.
the story is told with insight, care and compassion.
truly amazing.

A memoir that is wittily written, shows what life was like in post-Apartheid South Africa, and tackles difficult subjects like racism, domestic abuse, and poverty with an empathetic but sharp sense of humour. Enjoyable, and Trevor Noah's narration makes it even more so.

I went through a lot of emotions reading this. I learned a lot because honestly I had to clue about the partides in South Africa so it was really interesting to learn about that and it made me mad. I also laughed a lot. Trevor. Noah is a wonderful narrator. This also made me cry which I wasn’t expecting. I really liked learning about his mother and what a strong woman she is. That was probably my favorite part.

A heart wrenching story with his classic sense of humor. I really appreciated this story as it felt incredibly real.
