This was a painful read, it could have easily been written in 100 pages instead of 350 and gotten the same
points across (but even then, it would still be awful because the plot is mediocre at best). It also excused/blamed a 18/19 year old for the predatory actions of a middle aged man.

The book should have been 2 pages instead of 300 pages. Actually it shouldn’t have been written at all. But since it was finished it feels like I shouldn’t give it a flat 0 soo if you want to torture someone give them this book

Ce livre m'a tenue en haleine jusqu'au bout! Je recommande!

This book does not deserve one star. This is a truly infuriating read that had me wondering why did the author go through the effort of writing this 300+ page book when it could have been told in 50 or less. I wasted my afternoon on this one.
slow-paced

I kept waiting for the plot twist, the surprise, and it never came. I love B.A. Paris but this book wasn't the same level, in my opinion, as her other four reads. It was less dark, twisty, mystery shrouded amazing-ness and more slow, relaxed pace and just flat out sad. Still a great great by an amazing author, but would recommend The Breakdown or Behind Closed Doors if you are looking for suspense and a dark and twisty mood.

This book doesn’t read like any of the authors previous ones but it’s still very quick and engaging. You weren’t sure if you should hold our hope for a happy ending (which was me) or succumb to the ominous undertone of the book.
This book reads as if you are peering into their daily lives like a fly on the wall and I appreciated the alternating perspectives. I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either. Made me hug Declan a little tighter tho.
