The beginning started out slower and I wasn’t sure how the story would go but was pleasantly surprised at the end. The last chapter was the best part although very sad.

I thought this was very beautifully written and really appreciated the characters. Some of the plot was a bit simplistic but the overall tone was very intriguing.

Because you were right when you said that people can’t always give us what we want from them; that you can’t ask them to love you the way you want. No one can be blamed for that. And the odds had been stacked against us from the start: we had no manual, no one to show us the way. Not one example of a happy couple made up of boys. How were we supposed to know what to do? Did we even believe that we deserved to get away with happiness?

i’ve started this review multiple times and still have no way of putting into words just how much this book destroyed me and changed me and moved me and pulled on my heartstrings and made me feel heavy and weightless and breathless. one of the easiest 5 stars of MY LIFE.

this is one of the most beautifully written books i’ve ever read and one i’ll definitely think about for the rest of my life. HOW am i even supposed to live the rest of my life without knowing anything else about the characters that in less than 200 pages feel like friends? about ludwik? about granny? about the landlady?

tomasz jedrowski, you’re a superstar
