Brené Brown has done it again. Throughout this book, I was reminded of things that were present in Daring Greatly, Rising Strong and Braving the Wilderness, but both circumstances in my personal life and reframing these ideas for my professional life presented opportunities to reflect on what it means to live a wholehearted life and what it means to be a wholehearted leader, and, how I can start engaging in conversation with coworkers about how we can all be better. This may not all the way be an intended outcome, but I also noted several instances when the advice shared in this book presented opportunities to parent better. Overall a high recommendation.

I'm a huge Brene fan in general. As new manager at Google, I'm so grateful for this application of her research to the workplace. When I first started reading, I felt my own shame gremlins telling me that I didn't qualify as enough of a leader to be the audience for this book. But what I found was that anyone who works on a team and wants to enact organizational and personal growth can apply the learnings here. I've brought some exercises to my team already and plan to do more!

I’m glad I read through this book slowly and did some of the work of reflecting along the way. I highly recommend doing that because you will get so much more out of this work.
