I couldn't help but think about how all of these contracts are unenforceable, and I'm pretty sure that's not how deeds work.
Otherwise, this was a pretty fun read. Adrienne Young's strongest suit is her descriptive writing. The vibes in both this book and Fable are immaculate, and that carries the book. The plot didn't feel particularly urgent, and many of the characters fell a little flat, but the dynamic between Fable and Saint was very interesting to me.
I also thought it was cool how much Fable learned about Isolde, and I think that Fable is an enjoyable first-person narrator, which can be rare for the genre.

I kinda enjoyed this book more than Fable bcs there were more... exciting scenes? Anyways... I enjoyed this series so much!
3.5/5 Stars
- Was more fast-paced than first book, which I enjoyed
- Main thing I didn't like about this book was the character development (or rather devolvement). To me, the main characters kinda just became self-absorbed and jerks (especially West). I felt bad for the crew and was really pissed at how West was treating them
- The addition of Clove and Saint into the book was really interesting, and they definitely helped round out the story. Involving other family members made the plot more interesting.
- I think the plot in this book was a lot better than in Fable. There was more going on, more people involved, and more lies/loyalties and plots involved, which made it a much more enjoyable read.
- Overall, the family dynamics and scheming/plots were what I really enjoyed in this book and elevated it above Fable

Fable and West drew me in and captivated me in “Fable” and when the book ended on a dramatic cliffhanger I was all sorts of tied up about it. I put it aside for a while and recently picked “Namesake” up, immediately being drawn back in and riddled with anxiety over how their story would wrap up. A fascinating tale of twists and turns, treasure, secrets, betrayal, forgiveness and reconciliation, I am so happy I came back for book 2. I’m looking forward to reading the novellas, prequel and book 3 to hear about the stories of the Roths, Saint, Auster & Paj and Koy & Willa!
-> 4,75 / 5 ( pour la duologie )

What an end to the story. All the plottwists (foreseeable and unexpected ones). I wanted to strangle West more than once, also kick Fable, hug Willa and Auster, smack Paj, kill Holland and in the end just give the biggest hug to Saint.
The end was definitely not what I expected but I loved it!
