Edward Snowden

4.31 AVERAGE

informative medium-paced

Maybe my new favorite nonfiction book. The subject matter is incredibly important and highly technical yet told in a way that is entertaining, accessible, and personal. At times, I was very surprised how well Snowden wrote.
Aside from the story itself, Edward Snowden is an American hero for our age. He is a man who voluntarily and knowingly sacrificing everything he worked for, and potentially much, much more, for the sake of not only the American public, but the citizens of the world.

Such a good read and really opened my eyes to the importance of internet privacy beyond the "I have nothing to hide" argument.

3.5! this was a good read but i kinda feel like it could've been a lot shorter. part 2 and 3 were really eye opening, the last ten chapters were the most interesting. snowden sure likes to talk about how smart he is, and i don't doubt that he is, but you get tired of hearing it after a while, sometimes he just comes off as weird.

“And so the geek inherited the earth.”

Extremely well written. More than a memoir, it's a love story.
