Dave's always so helpful. We've done his budget system for a couple of years now but I wanted to get a reminder of the other things we should be doing. I like his down-to-earth style. Anyone know where I can find a high-yield savings account?

Straightforward and fairly useful. My dad recommended that I read this after receiving an inheritance from a family member, and while it certainly isn't the most exciting read in the world, I admit to gaining some valuable, practical knowledge. Although I had to wade through some corny jokes and a lot of obvious material of which I already am aware, the book ultimately felt worth reading. Not all of Ramsey's advice is applicable to me and his writing has a Christian focus, but he means well in his desire to share information with anyone having difficulties with money.

People who should read this book..... anyone and everyone who has even a modicum of debt. It will make you view all the things in your life differently. Looking forward to making some large changes over the next few years as my husband and I move forward with our plans and family plans. It feels really fabulous to be able to look at everything and start to make it happen. One small step at a time. Nothing ground breaking here and I wasn’t a huge fan of the religious stuff mixed in here but it was good all around 4/5

Want to get out of debt? Looking for simple money answers to get your personal finances back on track? This is the book to do it. For years, Dave Ramsey has taught people how to get out of debt, save, and spend in a reasonable fashion. While The Total Money Makeover tells you how to get out of debt and stay that way, Financial Peace tells you why you should do it.

I read this while attending my Financial Peace University class as a component of the course, and while I've worked Dave Ramsey's baby steps for several years now, it's always refreshing to study the material again.

While Dave Ramsey has many common sense approaches and suggestions when it comes to money, that is where my appreciation of his outlook ends. I was taken aback by the amount of name-calling and judgment that he spews forth in this book...and it is even worse in his DVD's. He calls people losers, labels people either free-spirits or nerds and throws around many other generalities.

I have found that we already do many things that he suggests with our money. There is always room for improvement, but we already do pretty well. As for the name calling and judgment, I try my best to do better than him.

Yes, eventually the book worm has to buckle-down and pay off those pesky student loans! I appreciate the wisdom of this book, and Dave Ramsey does a nice job of getting you excited to be rid of debt and working on some investments. But Ramsey is not a writer, so don't come to this book of financial advice looking for great writing.
