~~~3.5 stars~~~
It was not as good as other books in this series but it was still enjoyable.
It was so loooong since I've read a Diamond brother book! And well it is still cool! I really love Nick, even dumb and naive Tim. Both of them are working well together I think A.H. nailed a good recipe for Sherlock Holm-esk mysteries with fun comic relief!
This was a short novella that is part of the Diamond Brother’s series. Although so much shorter than the other books, it followed the exact same pattern of someone paying the brothers a fair bit of money to do something for them, everything going wrong, and then Nick managing to work it all out in time, with very little help from Tim.
There were however, fewer twists in the story, with the only one really being
Spoilerthat it turns out that Smile was never a real person.
I enjoyed this book for what it was: a bit of light reading. Therefore it receives three stars, although I probably won’t read it again.
A nice short but enjoyable read, just enough clues that you can miss the twist if not paying attention. Enjoyed this book more than the others and think you really can see the contrasting ages between Nic and Tim.
I'm currently bashing through the Diamond Brothers series with my little boy. He absolutely loved this one, even making me go back to read parts again because they made him laugh so much.
Brilliantly I am also a huge fan of old films and The Third Man just happen to be my favourite so all the little references and plot nods just entertained me all the more.
Top hole!
