I dub today National Fall in Love with a Cute, Sexy Rom-Com Day!
The Virgin Next Door was just what I needed. An easy to read, low angst, workplace romantic comedy with a touch of boss/employee forbiddenness and a good amount of steam. I devoured this book in one sitting. I just could not get enough of Veronica and Milo’s chemistry. Between their playful banter and all the “list conquering” these two were undoubtedly perfect for each other.
Milo is all kinds of swoony. I’m pretty sure I fell for him right off the bat. Besides being a dreamy, dog loving, business owner who is good with his hands, Lauren Blakely throws in that he’s a bit of a nerd too. Gah! Be still my beating heart. That’s one of my weaknesses. I live for nerdy heroes.
Of course Veronica also shines. Surprise surprise, another Blakely heroine I've developed a girl crush on. I adored her. She’s smart. She’s witty, She’s always looking out for women and their pleasures. *claps* We love a sex positive women. I liked that we got to see her really find her niche. Find out what she was meant to do.
Lauren Blakely’s books always put a smile on my face. The Virgin Next Door did just that. If you’re in the mood for a charming, sexy rom com with tons of chemistry, compatible characters, great dialogue and a troublemaking cat, you need this book asap.

The Virgin Next Door is the first book in The Dating Games series by Lauren Blakely. I'm absolutely giddy over a new series from Lauren. New characters to love, new places to visit, new Blakely men to fall in love with. Yes, please! This is Milo and Veronica's story. She's a virgin who writes a racy column, The Virgin Club. Her neighbor, Mister Sexy Pants has a starring role in her column and in her life. All of a sudden he's her new boss. Gasp! Milo can't believe his luck when his sexy neighbor comes in for an interview. How can this sexy, confident woman he wants to get to know in and out of the bedroom be off-limits now. Just bad luck. Or is it? The more he gets to know her, the more he likes. Her job is just temporary so it's ok to cross the line. What happens when he finds out all of New York knows about his sexy pants? Oh my Lord! Veronica and Milo are so much fun! The witty banter, the sexy innuendos, the dirty talk. The dogs! I loved every minute of it. Oh, I see you Drew and Axel and I can't wait to get my hands on you!
Absolutely delightful!
Seriously I couldn’t get enough of this one. I know my favourite character in this book is Veronica by far. I loved her attitude. 100% loved that she owns being a virgin she just isn’t ready to give someone that gift yet. Guess what THAT IS OK! I think that is what I liked the most; usually I am not a fan of adult virgin romances. But this was so far from any of those.
Veronica is so boldly herself, even when a mishap happens and she loses a lot she picks herself right back up and just figures it out. I want to high five her.
Milo took me a little more to come around to, I get that he has been bitten and is a little shy. But I will say he doesn’t second guess jumping all in. Is he cautious yes but again that is understandable.
What a breath of fresh air this book was from what I have been listening to.
Teddy & Vanessa go together like peanut butter and jam, their voices just complement each other I loved it.
I loved the POV of the cat and the bonus epilogue ;) it’s a treat.
Seriously I highly recommend.

The Virgin Next Door was such a fun read as well as an easy book to get into. Milo and Veronica are our main characters. Veronica writes about her sexual fantasies as a virgin for an online column and Milo owns a half bike half flower shop. Veronica is a very open-minded and upfront person which can be seen through almost all her actions throughout the book which makes her a very likeable character. Milo is a very sweet and understanding guy which is seen through his relationships with the characters in the book.
Despite Milo getting out of a pretty horrible relationship he cannot help the attraction he feels toward Veronica, while Veronica had been crushing on him for a while now, because of that the tension between the two is out of this world.
I really loved how both main characters in this book were very open with their fantasies, especially Veronica, which is refreshing to see in a book. I also loved seeing the support that Milo showed Veronica throughout the book never doubting her. This book makes for an incredible summer read it has all the light-hearted and fun elements that make it one I really had so much fun reading this book.
