50,000 SHADES OF STEREOTYPING! Trying hard to finish this book. I don't have a desire to read other books by this author. If she didn't CONSTANTLY use every stereotype available, would she be able to write at all? Questionable.

Yikes. The thriller/mystery contained in this book is good. However, the racism & misogyny made it way too cringey. The use of the N word nearly made me DNF the book. I realize this book is nearly 30 years old so I guess I'll stick to MKA's newer works.

I wasn't into the story as much as the previous books in this series but I do like how Callahan unraveled the clues to the killer.

Cousin is shot to death in her new Lexus near an area where Callahan Garrity didn't think she should be. Add in a nephew that has a speech difficulty that everyone tries to keep Callahan from talking to.... and she's off and running trying to figure out why her cousin was killed.
