This is adorable and a quick read. It's a series of stories from lesbians, about their first crushes and first sexual experiences. The people are drawn with animal-type heads. Very sweet.

Heartwarming and adorable, sexy and exciting all wrapped up in a cute animal folk flavoured package. Reading the various stories and relating to so many different bits made me feel..like I was home.

very cute, short read. Took me three chapters to realize it was about more than one person. An enjoyable 20 minutes.

This book, On Loving Women, is a collection of short comics staring Diane Obomsawin’s friends. This book describes how and when they discovered they were lesbians and what the experience was like for them. I am not a lesbian, but I believe everyone should have a right to be whatever they want.

This story was a bit ummm choppy? I guess I didn't realize it was different women in the beginning of the story, so I read it as one woman's experience. I learned this wasn't the case because of conflicting tales, then reread it once I realized my error. For this I take one star away, because I feel that many would make this mistake.

The biggest statement that struck me was this :"I wanted to be the centre of attention...and I wanted nobody to notice me." This was me when I was a teenager, I soon found myself understanding these women even though I have never struggled with how people view me, but I have hated myself and found myself struggling with my identity.

Another thing that I didn't understand was the use of animal heads on these girls? I didn't get that part, aside from the first story. Over all it was a powerful comic, confronting a current issue.

I loved the format and style of this book. Reminded me of Lisa Hanawalt's illustrations of anthropomorphic people. Each story is charming and touching. Kind of like Bojack Horseman meets Fun Home.

A book that features a real Quebecois flavour -- from French Catholic boarding houses to queer bars in Montreal, this book is a quiet triumph and a soft place to fall.

Super sweet, so lovely, it features several different stories from all sorts of different women about their first crushes, first loves, unrequited loves and affairs. I liked it for the same reason that I love a lot of queer anthologies, for the multitude of voices.

It's understated one minute, intense the next, but isn't that queer love in a nutshell?

I will definitely be doing a joint YouTube review of this book and some other lesbian comics I love.
