I dnf'd two stories (the one about the seagulls and one about the scarecrow)

I enjoyed two stories (the one about the silkworm girls and the one about the massage therapist) and the rest were meh.

skipped some of the stories as i wasn't as interested in them but the title story was my fave... who knew lemons could be a vampire's vice?

as frustating as I might find her endings sometimes (or what feels like a lack thereof), her stories always compel me--especially her characters' voices, they feel different and varied and unique through the collection.

This book was fine. I found some of the stories followed a similar formula: very interesting concept, it seems the author didn’t know quite where to go, odd minor twist, and sort of cliffhanger ending that you sort of know the outcome for. I’ve seen the same kind of ending in my own writing, and it was good for me, as a writer, to see that it becomes a little frustrating when bound together 3 times in one book. I did enjoy this book; I think the author is very creative, the prose was pleasant in most places, and there was nothing I especially disliked.
