The back of the book says: "Murdered again and again, one girl always comes back for more..."

AND THAT WAS LITERALLY THE ENTIRE BOOK. What was the point? I have no idea. The one redeeming quality was that the atmosphere was immersive.

-will just set this as Finished Today, i really forgot to tag this as done reading lmao.

i totally forgot to check this out of my tbr list because I finished it a looooooong time ago (maybe 3-4 mos ago?) that long!
i'm just checking out my manga reader and i saw Tomie. Poof, remembered i finished it. XD

I agree with some people saying Tomie is a bit repetitive sometimes.
But I just loved everything that happens in these 800 something pages that Junji Ito provided to his readers.

The compilation of people who met Tomie in their lives and died a horrible death (LOTS OF BODY HORROR!!) are just so great and satisfying to look at. Lol i even made my favorite scene as a wallpaper before but my mom saw it and got mad as to why I had scary shits as my wallpaper LOL mama if you only know what your kid's favorite genre............

it's a 4.5/5 for me. in my opinion, Uzumaki is still the best for me. Well, I should read Gyo and let's see if Uzumaki's place will be replaced.

This is a collection of short stories all revolving around Tomie and how evil and narcissistic she is. I wonder if I would've enjoyed it more if it was more plot driven rather than a series of short stories that don't relate to each other for the most part. The artwork is beautiful and I appreciate that even though Tomie is a full blown seductress, she is not drawn to cater to the male gaze. Even though most of the stories are predictable because Tomie does what she always does, each story was still captivating in their own way and I kept wanting more.
