Very fun, very funny, and very smart! I laughed out loud a few times! I think it doesn’t get a higher rating because it is sort of all over the place, which might’ve been purposeful, since the setting is so chaotic. But I definitely had a good time. The humor reminded me a lot of the Monty Python group’s humor.

Okay, so...I've heard for a long time how much I'm supposed to read these books. It's sacrilege that it took so long.

And I will admit, I did laugh quite a lot. Especially at the beginning, and then at the end when the ship committed suicide.

But I gotta say, I expected more. Not terrible, but just kind of middle ground. Ah, well. I'll continue with the series, though. I did find it funny.

Kind of fun but mostly a lot of nonsense and I don't quite get the hype and won't continue the series! But that's just me! Glad I read it anyway!

I love this book, I always have, although I have not read it for a while. I am reading all five this time in preparation for the recent sixth book, not by Adams, which I bought at the time and never got around to reading.
This book was a joy. The Guide passages are iconic (I love the radio show and there are parts of the book that are identical word for word!) and although the is essentially just a novelisation o the first four episodes of the radio show, it is such a quick, easy and amusing read that I suggest, if you've never read it, you do so. Now.

Update 6.12.22: just re-read the Folio edition of this book, which is genuinely a beautiful thing. I stand by everything I said before, I love this book, love the humour, love the craziness. Probably going to end up re-reading all of them as a result of reading this one.
