8.75/10 BIG LOVE! So much fun. Not a work of literary art but man what a fun read. Not cliche, not predictable, just good
the inner book was a bit campy but I loved that because A) it’s meant to be a book so it can be like that B) it gave it a unique voice to the top level book

I loved the way this was written, a book within a book, two mysteries, and two clever solutions. Always happy to read a murder mystery.

This was a whodunnit in a whodunnit and neither of them were all that good. The ‘quick read crime fiction’ genre is one I’m well acquainted with, and this book would be considered one, except it’s just not a page-turner. Not my thing!

The way this story is told immediately draws you in. Told, initially, from the point of an editor who works with an infuriating author is enough to pique anyone’s interest. Having the story then flash into the book being read over is an excellent touch.

You see many themes and characters that feel familiar and grin to yourself, all the whole wondering if you can figure it out what is happening before it is revealed.

This is truly a book that even if when you put it down will dance in the back of your head making you wonder if your murder mystery skills are up to snuff.

this book had an interesting layout as it had a book within a book. however, it was so cliche and i felt like it could have been cut in half. it was a quick read but also i felt very slow, like there was so much focus on describing characters which was pretty shallow. there were two mysteries that got solved in the book, but too be honest, the murder mystery trope is highly overused and this book tried to make it original but besides the structure of the book, there wasn’t anything that unique about it.

Excellent whodunnit and I also liked the surroundimg Story of Susan Rusland.
I would have given a little bit more intro in the beginning, but overall, it was quite a pleasant read.
The fictional interview of Anthony Horowitz with Alan Conway was a real treat.
