Since the only other book I've ever read by Jenny Offill is so near and dear to my heart, I was nervous to read another. I shouldn't have worried at all, because Offill's elegantly spare prose and dry wit are all still here in Weather. Perhaps I could say that the content makes it slightly less charismatic than Dept. Of Speculation, but Weather is the contemporary mood. It is the anxiety and just-doing-our-best that we're all feeling.
