I’ve read this book 3 years ago and I remember being slightly traumatised by it. For some unknown reason i thought about this book a few days ago and I wondered how the story ended. So I decided to reread the first one to then read the second one.
This time I went into the first book knowing it was no love story, which made me more ready to handle everything I was reading between Z and A.
This book is not for the weak one!! I just can’t seem to wrap my head around the fact that the author chose non consensual relationships to start the ‘love affair (if we can call it that)’. The first few sexual relationships between them were against her will and that I just can’t understand/accept. She even said it to her friend, even if she says: it stared as a no but after… a no is still a no. He even admits it to himself that he doesn’t have her yes but because he knows how her body sings it’s okay… like I don’t mind the kinky stuff/ hunting, even the freaking gun as long as she’s also okay with it. But since she isn’t I just have a hard time with it, at the the end she confesses to being in love with him ( to us the readers ) but got the wonder if she isn’t suffering from the Stockholm syndrome. I just wanted a yes from her, then I would have fully shipped them both together. Knowing what he’s job is makes it even more disgusting and disappointing. Also I know it a story but makes me wonder if this was real life and she would leave him after a while … she would never be free and every person around her might get killed for just approaching her. The positive thing about Z is his job, praying that there are some people in the real world that are doing what he’s doing in real. I also liked A, she’s funny and I did enjoy that. Really such a shame because every now and then he says something cute and loving but him sexually abusing is says in the back of my mind. I accepted from the start that that’s what he does so I was more interested/ intrigued with the disgusting group of men he wants to kill (the first time I read it I was so shocked by the sexual content that I was half paying attention to the disgusting pedo’s) so I will be reading the second part. And the dead of Gigi, not surprised. Another woman killed by a fucking man that can’t handle rejection.

Fucked up. It got to a point where I didn't even read the smut anymore cause it just turned my stomach, but I wanted to know more about the plot not involving the "romance". Will not be reading the second book
