I know this is a true story and I have all the empathy for Nancy Cooper’s family and friends but to write a book about this case was a little too much. It was very repetitive, legit repeating the same situations over and over again no less than five times.

Save yourself the time and just read a news article about it

A little wordy to me. A lot of repeating the same thing over and over but a good detail of what happened. Told in a story line setting.

This book was so repetitive. It seemed as if it kept repeating the same thing over and over to drag it out. It started to become very annoying!

I really think that narrator Chloe Cannon is what made this a four-star read for me. Lamb is a good writer but there are a lot of details and phrases that are repeated that would have become annoying had I been reading the book in print rather than listening to it.It sort of let me skim over the repetitions.
A woman disappears while jogging in North Carolina. The spouse is always the first suspect and in this case, it's no different. Lamb had a peripheral relationship with the victim and (while it's not explicitly said) that seems to be what has her following this case so closely. We get lists of evidence as well as long transcripts about events around her death and the trials afterward.

How many times can you reiterate the same statements?

Nancy is an outgoing, fun loving girl who falls in love with reserved and quiet Brad. When Brad gets a job in the US, they swiftly marry and move. Soon there are children and marital issues Nancy just can't handle anymore. She decides to bring her kids home to Canada and file for divorce, but Brad is not willing to let her go. Until he kills her. This is the story of how the marriage fell apart, the murder was committed and how the family and police refused to back down until they had the man who killed Nancy behind bars.
