I'd like to thank Simon & Schuster for sending me an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

After an intriguing first book I was excited to see more of Lia and Joon, especially in a boarding school setting. The International Magic Academy was fun to learn about and helped continue the world building from book 1. The different magical abilities and various houses and magical weapons were also exciting and made me want to learn more about the school and its traditions. However, a majority of the book took place at the academy and the quest began much later on, which caused the beginning half to be on the slower side. But once they started their mission it was full of action and explored more Korean myths. In terms of the writing style, it flowed nicely and was easy to follow, making it a quick read.
