You know how Katt Williams said Ludicris sold his soul for $200 million and is going on to make 20 movies? I feel the same way about "Todd Ritter, also known under the nom de plume of Riley Sager and Alan Finn". This guy comes out of nowhere, writes lower-than-mediocre books about houses, and still drops one every year? I am no longer reading Riley Sager this is the third book that's been below 3 stars/DNF. Complete Unhaul.

Review:
CHILLS! CHILLS I TELL YOU! EASILY ONE OF MY TOP BOOKS OF THE YEAR! This book was a pure sweet Masterpiece! I knew, I freaking knew I was going to fall in love with Riley Sager’s writing which is why I went ahead and bought like 4 of his other novels lol!
Goodness, I thought I had the mystery figured out again and again until BOOM! It’s what (and who) I least expected! The Haunting of Banesberry hall (which is the book within the book) will have you at the edge of your seat as well as you see Maggie, our MC, uncover its secrets. Then BOOM! Your hit with a jaw dropping moment in which this crazy thing (can’t give too much away) begins to unravel! When I hit the last 25% I couldn’t put it down! I was at the edge of my seat till the final page and that LAST LINE! Ahh! Chefs kiss! Highly recommend!

Final Rating:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 out of five stars! A true Masterpiece!

‘Home Before Dark’ is a gothic thriller that takes place at Baneberry Hall. A house that’s full of dark history and secrets, which are released once again when Maggie Holt returns to the house in hopes to find the truth. Thought her parents begged her to never step foot in again.

After reading ‘The Only One Left’ I just has to read another book by Sager, and he has yet to disappoint.

I really enjoyed reading this book I felt like I was in a horror movie! You get to read about the past events in Baneberry Hall and current events through Maggie. This is a twisted story that had me trying to piece the odd events together. But nothing prepared me for the ending. I audibly said “damnnnn” 😬. Sometimes it may be best to leave the truth alone, but who knows it may actually set you free.

Amityville Horror and Paranormal Activity are some of my favorite movies, and some of the scenes in this book reminds me of them! If you enjoy haunted houses and ghosts look not further.
