I’m new to fantasy and this was easy to read and follow. I was told it would be spicy but it definitely was tame and an extremely slow burn which I was ok with. Already have book 2&3 ordered and on the way.

Yikes this was pretty boring. Author built plot around tropes instead of focusing on the story. Nothing really happened till the end. Very cliche and predictable.

Basically hits all the romantic/fantasy tropes on the bingo card but was interesting enough to keep me mostly interested.
3.5 stars, kinda fell apart on me by the ending. Maybe it just felt like too much setup for the next books all in the last 100 pages?

Dawn of Onyx keeps the action and intrigue rolling with some really fun twists and strong character moments. A few parts dragged a little for me, but overall it’s an exciting, page-turning read I’d definitely recommend.
