Very sweet. Not very deep, but almost aggressively cute. The ducks go "pit pat paddle pat, pit pat waddle pat". It's lovely

It's dark. Dark about to be seen. If you are ugly, you are not supposed to be in public.

Tom Kitten's mother is quite silly, dressing him and his sisters up in clothes and then sending them out into the garden to be out of her way.

Few things are funnier than the picture of Mr. Drake Puddle-duck in Tom Kitten's button-less suit!

Deliciously ironic when Tabitha Twitchit scolds her naughty kitten children for losing their clothes, and the geese steal them! Already looking forward to seeing Jemima Puddleduck's own story.
The arrival of her bonneted friends is one of my favourite illustrations.
One of the best Beatrix Potter books for story, character and illustrations - unmissable!

I haven't read Potter in a long time, it does seem very dated
