I’m rereading the Harry Potter series for the first time in at least ten years. They remain as fresh, clever, funny, and scary as the very first time I read them.

The annoying character of Gilderoy Lockhart is sometimes too annoying but all ends well. The characters of Harry, Ron, and Hermione continue to grow, and Hermione begins to see that breaking the rules every now and then has its benefits.

First of all, I’d like to applaud Ron Weasley for facing his fear of spiders in this book. The poor guy gets into trouble solely because he chose to befriend Harry; that’s loyalty right there! On the other hand, there’s Ginny, who is unnervingly relatable (we shall not discuss my high school diaries, please and thank you). However, while rereading this book and knowing about all that is yet about to go down in the story, the second instalment of the series feels a bit like those filler episodes in tv shows. Nevertheless, I enjoyed being back in the wizarding world. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (4.5 out of 5 stars) for me! 🪄

Rereading this because my officemate gave me the hufflepuff edition as a late birthday gift for me. And nothing's changed since the last time I read CoS, it seems. My feelings with each characters are still intact.

Still loving Harry a little bit too much. Still frustrated at how Hagrid was super careless and endangering harry and ron. Still exasperated at how Albus not doing his best at protecting harry (wbk he's still an infuriating old man that I have the unfortunate luck to love). And Lockhart. Urggggg. I still hate him with much passion.
