The artwork is colourful and dynamic, but I found the story weak, which I think might be the result of only having 4 issues collected in this book. It opens in media res with the five main characters already friends, but the narrative charges on and never elaborates on anything. The relentless pace also means that the characters don't get a lot depth - I couldn't tell you which of the main characters is which, apart from Ripley who I found annoying. (Is Ripley supposed to be younger than the others? If so, why is she camping with them? Are Lumberjane troops not divided by age?) Probably one for younger readers only.

22. A book by an author you haven't read before

the reason i liked this so much is because I'm a scout as well and I'm like!!! yes!!!!!! but no graphic novel can compare to saga so, yeah.

Delight. In a word.
I mean come on, the name of this volume is "Beware the Kitten Holy" and if that's not awesome enough for you then read up to where you find out what that MEANS because you will then DIE, enraptured. I love these campers, and I am afraid of their camp, and I am intrigued by their scout master ... and I require more of these.
And volume 2 is not out until mid-October. To borrow a phrase from the Lumberjanes, WHAT THE JUNK? In the meantime I will reread this one because I know I missed some stuff in my rush to find out What Happened.

To be honest, this didn't do an awful lot for me. I enjoyed the artwork, but other than that, I didn't really care for the characters or the plot all that much.

I read this one on the Kindle app on my phone, I really really enjoyed it. I don't usually read graphic novels. I got this through Kindle Unlimited - I have also got the other volumes which was immediately after finishing this.

I really enjoyed myself reading this one. It was fun and different from what I have read previously. I loved the relationship between each of the best friends. The adventures which they go on together, whether intentional or not. you can tell that they are such good friends and would do anything for each other.

The art style is colourful and suits the graphic novel and the story amazingly.

I can't wait to the rest of the volumes throughout the rest of the year.

I recommend this to everyone

i've been seeing this all over goodreads so i decided to give it a chance and that was a mistake. oh god, i don't even know what to say about this. the characters aren't established nor developed. i know next to nothing about these five girls. hell, i wouldn't be able to name all five if you asked me right now. i also had such high hopes for the artwork after seeing the cover but it was a mess. (not like i could draw anything better but the pages were really crowded and that made the whole thing even harder to read.)

i'm 120% sure i'm not the target audience so i will cut myself some slack for not enjoying it as much as i've hoped to.
