Excellent voice acting. Especially for the character "The Other". *chef's kiss. It's such a cool and unique fantasy world. Love the world building.

When the moon hatched

This book was just WOW!! The world building was unique and well done. It took a hot minute to get use to all the different words and creatures but once I did I was hooked. Pro tip: there’s a glossary in the front, refer to that often. I read this on my kindle so that made it a little difficult.
There was a lot of gore at the beginning and I struggled with it to the point I almost DNFd but I’m SO glad I didn’t because this quickly became one of my top reads this year!

When the moon hatched follows Reave, an assassin who works for rebel forces. Her goal is to make the kingdom she lives in a better place; Until she seeks revenge due to a tragic event and gets caught. She’s thrown in the dungeon to wait for her trial where a mysterious man comes by and is immediately drawn to her. He’s feeling crazy because he swears he knows her and she has no idea who he is but she’s drawn to him and unsure why.

Reave is a strong FMC who doesn’t take anyone’s crap and gets things done.

Kaan is chefs kiss. He is everything!

The love story is so heart wrenching, achingly beautiful. The spice is spicing 🥵
There are so many twists and turns that keep you guessing.
The relationship between fae and dragons was so well done and different than your average story.

Tropes:

✨Fae
✨Dragons
✨Banter
✨Mysterious
✨Corrupt kingdom
✨Who hurt you
✨Forbidden love
✨Multiple POV
✨Forgotten past

Absolutely beautiful story. I'm in love with the world full of different people and living conditions. Such a unique magical system. And the dragons ♥️.
This was exactly what I needed. I got lost in the story and this beautiful world. I fell in love with these characters and my heart broke over and over .
I can't wait to see where the story will lead us . It's definitely a must read!

WHEN THE MOON HATCHED 🌕🐉
@sarah.a.parker.author

This book is not for everyone. I, however, loved it.

“Sadness is like stones that stack inside you, making it harder to move. Ignorance is my self-preservation tonic, and I’ll swear by it until I die.”

Raeve is a valued Elding Blade for the rebellion group Fiur du Ath. Her job is to kill. When a renowned bounty hunter is employed by The Crown to capture a member of the Ath, Raeve’s world is turned upside down.

As painful as Raeve’s life has been, she loves living. Loves her beautiful world. But she does not allow herself to love, for fear of what she would lose. Of what she’s lost before.

This is book one in an unfinished series, but well worth the pain. I have already read it twice and will read it again right before the next book is released. I loved it that much. The writing is lyrical and can be dense at times—you need to be able to focus when reading. But the picture it paints is worth it. Sarah did such a beautiful job of making me feel for her characters. I had tears streaming down my face at points, which is always a reading goal for me 🙃

I found this very heavy on the fantasy and world building in the beginning. It comes with a glossary. For some people this will be a deal breaker. I get it. I started with reading the glossary and honestly couldn’t get through it without the context of the story, but it was helpful at times to refer to.

The spice is not plentiful, but it was spicin’.

I didn’t enjoy the writing style. And she just kept describing everyone’s features way too in depth including hers. I’m not the biggest fan of present tense first person and to cap it she kept talking about Kaans smell, over and over and over and over again. I get it he smells good.
Plus I can’t stand insufferable characters and I found Raeve to be that. She had complex moments, but after getting saved by someone she just wants to slit his throat.
It felt very predictable as well, the banter felt recycled and I was like I already know this is heading to yall wanting to sleep together. I get it but you wanna kill the dude.
