This book was such a mind game. I kept second-guessing everyone, and the twists really threw me off. At first, I thought I had it all figured out but nope, I was wrong. Some parts felt a little slow, but the ending made up for it. Definitely one of those thrillers that messes with your head.

My first Feeny book, like most hyped books I wrongly went in with too high an expectation.
The last 20% was full of storyline and twists but it felt like a bit of a drag to get there. Very 'I have a secret, wait and see' for majority of the book... Yes, it was an interesting outcome but at the same time it felt so many new plot lines were given that it jumbled in to a bit of a mess. Personally I prefer more hints and drip feed throughout. The kind of book where it clicks at the end, but looking back you realise clues and think 'How did I miss that?!'. This is probably just a preference!

For what it was, it was a good book. I enjoyed learning about Adams condition and this added an interesting element to the book. Although we was a bit of a wet wipe!!

Shall try another Feeny book and make my mind up on her then.

This was well written and definitely creepy at times, but overall I felt a bit underwhelmed. A lot of people call the twist shocking - for me it was actually quite predictable, and that’s saying something since I usually never see twists coming and just read for vibes.

That being said, I still think it’s a great introduction if you’re new to the thriller genre. The atmosphere works, the pacing keeps you engaged, just don’t expect to be completely blown away.

This book was just not for me. I thought it was dull and felt like a huge chore to finish. The twists at the end were too little too late and by that point I didn’t even care. I just wanted it to end.
