I've loved starting this new era in the mistborn world. It's so interesting seeing what the
mythology and the world itself is like. The new characters are loveable and mysterious. Can't wait to read more!

I’m sure there are people that would absolutely love this book. I’m just not particularly fond of stories set in industrial revolution time periods, and I really don’t enjoy books where the protagonist is a cop. TRIGGER WARNING:
while not depicted, the main motivation for Wax to save the women that have been abducted is that he finds out they are likely being sex trafficked. He does not find them in this book and it is implied they will be forcibly bred to produce Allomancers.

Just the kind of sequel Mistborn needed. Lower stakes, faster pace, and a completely fresh cast of characters. Sanderson's worldbuilding is peak as always, and the ways allomancy and feruchemy are utilized is genius, even more so than the original trilogy.
