had a lot of potential, thought the judge's backstory was interesting,
but there is no way in hell that they would have been able to trick the FBI like that like come on,, they didn't need a body confirmation??? that part ruined it for me

Thank you NetGalley, St Martin’s Press, & the author for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Do you love:

- Multiple POV
- Fast Pace
- Legal/Psychological Thrillers

This book is for you!

I loved everything about this book. I opened this book today and read it in one sitting. This is my first book by Michele and this will surely not be my last. So many twists and turns throughout and I enjoy a book that keeps me thinking and wondering — this had that.

We follow MC Madison who gets her dream internship working at a judges office and when we brother seems to be framed on drug charges, we watch her try to figure out who is behind it (the judge seems to possibly be behind it).

All of the characters in this book are so well written and fun to watch grow and interact together in this incredible storyline/plot. Such a fun edge of your seat read! The ending will have your jaw dropped. I never guessed the ending. I absolutely recommend this book.

The Intern
By Michele Campbell
 3/5 ⭐️

Madison Rivera is a law student at Havard and is offered her dream internship with Judge Kathryn Conroy. There is one problem, Madison is hiding a secret that could damage her whole law career. Danny, Madison’s brother, has been arrested for drug possession and Conroy is the judge on the case.

Keeping this secret hidden, Madison propels herself into the judge’s luxurious life. Soon Madison questions some of Judge Conroy’s actions and suspects her of legal corruption. Madison gets even more suspicious when Danny goes missing. These two women play a powerful cat-and-mouse game to expose the truth and bring the right people to justice.

The Intern was a good read yet not satisfying as a thriller for me. I kept waiting for the major twist but the plot settled into a mob scandal. I liked the law school and office setting. I often thought of the show Suits while reading. The 3rd-person POV and repetitive internal dialogue fatigued me at times. If you like intricate storylines with a big character list, this book is for you.
