I don't want to give it too bad of a rating because the author seems lovely but the writing style is just bad.. i skipped the a good portion of this thing not only because it was boring but because it was allover the place. The thing that got me through was knowing I would be able to move onto another book. The writing is somewhat 2014 wattpad cliche and if that is what you want this book is for you. This is a very wattpad style book. The good things: The basic plot is very creative and also the diversity is refreshing

Fun! Pretty predictable but I loved the characters enough that it made up for it :)

this was SO fun! it felt kind of like TWD fan fiction, honestly. overall one of the best escapes into fiction that i've had all year.

YA fiction isn't usually my style, and for that, i would almost give this three stars, because i know it's definitely not everyone's taste.

but i had a blast reading it, so i really can't complain!

it was a fun interesting book, it went slow and nothing remotely horror happened until like 30 ish percent in but I guess it was useful to get the character fleshed out. this book was more about friendships and smashing the patriarchy than it was about a zombie apocalypse. maybe it was because it wasn't exactly a zombie apocalypse and because it was too upbeat, which worked for me, because I can't exactly stand horror much, but the ending was a bit of a letdown. too upbeat if you ask me, needed a bit more deep realization of the horror that they witnessed and all the trauma. they killed lots and lots of people, even if they were infected. lots and lots of people are dead, this is a tragedy, not a mere media celebration. sure they should be happy they survived but they seemed to forget all the shit too fast. their actions and feelings weren't very realistic, unfortunately. and I was expecting a lot because the character was a dyscalculic girl with GAD, but she felt too confident and strong, as if this was all a movie and not you know, real? i guess I'm talking nonsense. maybe being too realistic would've made this book too dark, which was;t what the author wanted (you can see from the synopsis and the cover plus the title) but just a little mention of all this horrid experience and so many people being dead in the end would've been enough for me. anyways it was a fun use of time, I recommend it to teenagers who like zombies, fandoms, and people who love friendships being the star of the story.

I had such high hopes for this book. I mean, it features everything I love: zombies, comic-cons and girl gangs and whilst it was very fun, I didn't love it as much as I'd hoped I would. I wasn't the biggest fan of the writing style and, in general, everything felt very surface level. From the characters, who felt very one dimensional to the relationships to the plot itself. It all felt just ever so slightly underdeveloped.

However, I did have fun with it and overall, it was a very entertaining and easy read that was perfect for a summers afternoon. I just think it could have been something more.

Pretty predictable at the end. But loved how a few people died and the author didn't just make them stay alive cause they were important.
