Alright, let's talk Knight of Shadows. This series, man, it's something else. When I first dove into this world, it grabbed me by the throat and never let go. This installment? It's still a powerful punch, don't get me wrong. The gritty realism, the intricate dance of shadows and steel – it's all there, and it still pulls you in.
But I gotta be honest, there were moments where that initial, visceral grip felt a touch… softer. A few parts felt a little less immediate, not quite as raw as the earlier entries that truly sank their teeth into my soul. Yet, even with those slight lulls, the sheer depth of the characters and the cunning plot kept me hooked. It's a testament to the series that even a slightly less intense ride is still a four-star experience. If you're invested in this dark, compelling world, you absolutely need to read this.

It's amazing to see how much rezkin has grown, from an emotional standpoint. I believe book 7 will just be off the charts.
This was probably my least favorite of the series. Still entertaining but I felt confused by some plot lines and the necessity of them. Maybe things will make more sense in the 7th book.
i loved this series so much. i loved rezkin so much. but this book was such a disappointment. the plot seemed to go forward a little bit, but i just saw too little of all the characters i was interested in. maybe instead of time passing, more could be written about the characters. also, tam was taken again? ridiculous. i feel like rezkin's reason to stay away from his friends was weak. also, he is way OP. he has mastered all the skills, has a dragon, wild elvish powers, can look like whoever he wants, can make whoever look like whatever he wants (seena), and can basically teleport to wherever he wants. i'm interested to see if this series can be recovered with the next book but, if it's more of the same, i'm really not looking forward to it.

This book was ok. I was pretty eager about a new entry in the series, and while it was fun, I don't think it holds up to the rest. Rez flits around the world using portals, and it feels a bit chaotic. Some of the jumps are pretty abrupt, and I felt that the gimmick was used a bit too much. We also go back to Lon Laresh and spend a good portion of time on that story. This felt kind of repetitive as that storyline has already been explored earlier, and I didn't really think we had much to revisit so soon. Maybe I would have felt different if the overall story was moved forward, but there was hardly any progression on that front at all.
On the bright side, Frisha was not nearly as annoying as she has been previously. And as always, the fight scenes were wonderfully described and so enjoyable to read.
I still intend to continue the series, because its pretty interesting and I like the characters. I'm hoping the next entry has some more progression on the main storyline.
