Quite simply one of the most beautiful books that I’ve ever read I’d say. The characters are wholesome, inspiring and beautifully written. I’d highly recommend.

if you're looking for a comforting, light story about finding the pursuit of one's own happiness through the power of fostered familial love, or maybe you're in the "lost in the world and needs assurance" phase in life like me, or even just a story that reeks of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children/Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends with tablespoons of gay and heartwarming and a pinch of 1984... don't you wish you were here? read this book? personally, i hope so.

 ✨ 2024 Reread ✨

This is a book that will always make my heart feel gooey. I just appreciate the message of being kind to everyone and everything. The positive power being open and understanding radiates though this story.

I love this book with my whole heart. It's easily one of my all time favorites. Rereading it felt like coming home and getting a long warm hug from your favorite person. The characters are my happy place. Every single one of them feel like a literary family that I know I will always feel joy coming back to each time I pick up the book.

I constantly find myself smiling when I am deep into the prose.

Rereading this gave me a giant boost of joy and I am so glad that it fell back into my life when I needed comfort the most. *happy sigh*

🎧 This is my first time EVER listening to this book.... This is the best audiobook. Daniel Henning is perfection. The voices he adopts for each of the children are so imaginative and fun. Chauncey's voice is *chefs kiss* and makes me the happiest little bean around. 10/10 audiobook experience.

🌊 Cozy reading
🌊 A Book that is a hug
🌊 Beautiful message
🌊 Extremely lovable characters
🌊 Guaranteed to physically smile
🌊 Found Family
🌊 Magical in all the ways

I'm still deciding if Chauncey or Talia is my favorite character. It's a tough dilemma that is shaking me to the core.

Ps. Wouldn't this be a glorious Tim Burton movie or is it just me?

"Don't you wish you were here?"

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is my new absolute favorite book in the entire world. I haven't felt like this after reading a book since Ready Player One and the Harry Potter series. I've finished this book maybe five minutes ago and I already want to start over and read it again. I've truly never read anything like this. It's made me feel so happy and filled my heart so deeply.

I'm feeling like the Grinch, as I was reading Klune truly made my heart grow two sizes today.

It's a fantasy book but SO much more...it shows that people who are different...people who are unique who don't quite fit into society will always have a place to be loved and accepted.

I've finished this book with a clearer mind and a heart more open. I've finished with years if happiness. I want to experience the emotions of joy, euphoria and warmth all over again. Never did I think a book could mimic the feelings I get ever year on Christmas day. Thank you Klune for making me fall in love so deeply with a book again.

This book is so incredibly beautiful. It teaches people not to judge others by looks and how to fight for those you love.

This is such a lovely lighthearted fantasy. And the descriptions are great, you can totaly imangine the ambiance and the characters. Part of me hopes they will make a movie/series out of this book because it would do great on screen.. part of me hopes they dont in fear of it being misrepresented and ruined

When I started this book it was the exact opposite of what I expected.
It starts off in a rainy city with a man in a dead-end job. I expected a story about magical children on a beautiful island.
But I kept reading and soon I got sucked into the story. It was a different reading experience for me since I had never before read from the perspective of an older man, but I enjoyed it. As soon as we got to the Island I began not just enjoying this book but loving it. The children are all so unique, amazing and endearing. I really liked the writing style and how the author could make me truly like all characters, even children like Theodore who didn't speak a language we understand.
All in all I would absolutely recommend this book. It is way more than just a fun book about children on a beautiful island! (even though it is that as well)
